This coming Monday, Lord willing, the doors of Project HOPE will open once again. This ministry which began in 2019 helped reach impoverished high school students by providing them a hot meal and a time to study God’s Word 5 days a week. Praise God as many of the youth during 2019 gave their lives to follow Jesus Christ.

Unfortunately, the pandemic closed this ministry and schools for 2 years. During this time, the local health clinic has reported that physical and sexual abuse in Peru has significantly increased. Pregnancies rates have tripled among youth ages 14-17 years old. Abortion rates have soared. Young girls are now engaging in prostitution. Drug and alcohol use among the teens in this age have significantly increased. Depression, insecurities, and anxiety rates have also risen from the effects of the pandemic. Many families have suffered from extreme poverty and hunger. Studies and reports similar to this have been published all over the world.

BUT GOD…He has never left us nor abandoned us. He gave His only Son to die a terrible death, to be the perfect sacrifice for all of our sins. Jesus is the Savior of the world.

For the past weeks, we have been working to receive approval to open this ministry kitchen for 200 high school youth. The administrators and cooking staff have now been hired. All paper work has finally been approved. The dining hall has been repaired and all supplies have been bought to help us serve the youth daily. Please pray, as our hearts are to minister and love on each of these youth throughout this new school year. Pray as we will be making 1000 meals a week. Pray for all the missionaries as we try to counsel, love, and disciple each of these students. Pray as we teach them about the amazing love and HOPE, found only in Jesus Christ.

Pray for Project HOPE – pray for Monday, April 18th, as we HOPE to open the doors once again.
