HIGHLIGHTS FROM MT. VERNON BAPTIST YOUTH TEAM 2026 🇵🇪
What an incredible two weeks of ministry! We were so blessed to welcome the youth from Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Boone, NC, as they served alongside Rooted In Grace & Love in Peru. Day after day, this team traveled long hours to minister to families, youth, and children. They helped lead outreach ministries in several remote villages, where hundreds gathered to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. They shared their testimonies, led worship in both Spanish and English, spent one-on-one time with students during college English classes, and faithfully shared the love of Christ wherever they went.
Some of the sweetest moments happened late at night as we gathered together to share our “God moments” from the day. The friendships formed and the time spent with the youth at Project Hope will forever hold a special place in our hearts. The team also spent time with the boys at the children’s home hiking many miles together. What a special gift it was to share meals, laughter, and delicious ice cream!
And then came our annual youth camp! This incredible team of 21 helped lead five unforgettable days of camp, where 115 local high school students gathered together 24 hours a day to learn how God can transform their lives through His love, grace, and mercy. We were humbled and overjoyed to see many place their faith and hope in Christ alone. Throughout these two weeks, we had the privilege of witnessing God’s faithfulness as His Word was preached to hundreds of people across Peru. God is so faithful!
Thank you, Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, for faithfully praying, supporting, and sending these young people to Peru to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We are incredibly grateful for every student, leader, prayer warrior, and family who made this mission possible. To God be all the glory! #rootedingraceandlove
