Discipleship

Discipleship

Each of the ministries of Rooted In Grace & Love (feeding the hungry, youth ministries, outreach street ministries, medical/dental care, adult ministries, or working with abandoned children) combine Biblical teaching, discipling, love and encouragement, and sharing with the local people the amazing life of being a follower of Jesus Christ. We strongly feel that by meeting the physical needs of the individuals and families we serve is a very important part of our ministry, as demonstrated through Christ himself. Although, we recognize and firmly believe, that most importantly, our desire and hearts are to be faithful to where God leads us in hopes to bring them into a right relationship with the one and only Savior, Jesus Christ.

The Rooted In Grace & Love team prays for God to lead and guide our team each and every day, as we seek to serve Him by going and making disciples. Daily, we seek God’s guidance and the leading of the Holy Spirit to help us build relationships with the local Peruvian people and walk along side them each and every day, with the passion and desire of seeing disciples being made in the some of the most remote areas of Peru. We hope that you continue to follow our journey and learn more about Rooted In Grace &  Love’s work in Peru.

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.” John 15:16

“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” Romans 10:14-15

“And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” Mark 16:15

“And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” 2 Timothy 2:2

“And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’”
-Matthew 28:18-20

A disciple is someone who seeks and desires to be like Jesus. Someone who is fully committed to following Jesus Christ. A disciple is someone who finds their entire identity and purpose in Jesus. Ultimately, being a disciple is to have Jesus in the center of your life, your all and all. To be a disciple means that you are fully committed to Him, He is the most important person in your life. In Luke 14:27, Jesus is clear, “Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.” Dying daily with Christ, dying to your old self and making a decision each and every day to follow Jesus Christ.

We ask you to join us in praying for he hearts and lives to be radically changed in Peru and throughout the world. We hope discipleship will take ROOT in the core of everything we do and every relationships we seek to build. Pray for the new believers and for them to become disciples and lifelong followers of Jesus Christ.

“So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
-Ephesians 3:17-21
